Choosing The Right Photography Equipment

What's the difference between being on staff and being a freelancer? The short answer is about 250,000 jobs: as more and more magazines, newspapers, and wire services have cut costs by eliminating staff positions, they have increasingly turned to freelancers as a more economical and more flexible alternative. There are currently tens of thousands of freelancers and stringers who supply the vast majority of the images for all but the largest few dozen publications, and there are benefits and detriments for both sides.Each of our photographers has at least 2 of every piece of equipment with him at the wedding. If something breaks, the "on-call" photographer is called upon. He is equipped with a cell phone, a case filled with additional equipment, and a schedule for each wedding for that weekend.

Will you be the actual photographer that will shoot my wedding? Yes, unless otherwise specified. In cases where you will be working with another photographer, you will clearly be told this immediately after your initial inquiry and will be shown samples of their own work. Note that we most often shoot with an assistant who takes care of lighting and equipment. This assistant may also shoot when time permits.These should be worked out prior to the appointment time. If possible, the photographer will avoid portraits, electronic equipment, etc.; however, any personal items or valuables that can be removed should be, before the photographer arrives.

What kind of equipment do you use? I use all professional equipment and back up equipment. This is VERY important when hiring your photographer to know that if for some reason a piece of their equipment should fail that they have a professional and reliable back up. This is a list of what I have in my camera bag.

Why do your packages include two photographers? I find there are many benefits to having an additional photographer working along side me on your wedding day. Some examples are: A. We are able to split up and cover two different areas at the same time. An example would be the bride entering the church and the reaction of the groom as he sees his beautiful bride for the first time. C. We have the ability to capture different angles of view, which would be impossible for a single photographer.Wedding photography in Utah is actually some of the least expensive anywhere in the United States, with that said, it is important to understand that to become a Professional Photographer takes a lot of time and money.
