Colicky Crying Babies in Danger of Losing Their God-Given Milk

By: Anne Agar

Any colicky breastfed baby is in danger of being changed over to formula because the mother is wondering 'why is my baby fussy?' She's beginning to suspect it might be her milk causing the colic.

My advice would be 'Don't make the change because it won't help and your baby will miss out on getting the antibodies in your milk. You're successfully breastfeeding so be happy about that.'

Manufactured baby milk can't be as good and it won't stop your colicky baby's pains. I changed my baby to being bottle fed. She was only 6 weeks old and it wasn't a good idea to make the change. Lots of new mothers make the same mistake.

If you are breastfeeding it's simple to cure your baby's colic and halt the cause of all that crying. The absolute best thing to do is continue breastfeeding while you find out what to do.

Colicky babies being bottle fed can be helped too.

It just might not so quick. It could take a couple of days instead of just a few hours because of getting the quantity and frequency of the missing nutrient right.

I truly think there's only one cause for colic and therefore one cure, which is why hundreds of babies obtained quick relief. The same cause meant the same treatment was effective.

People write about Colic Causes and Cures but, from what I have learned I'd say this is not so.

Colic seems to have a single cause, otherwise why have hundreds of babies supplied with the same nutrient recovered from colic very quickly? Doesn't it seem to follow that hundreds more babies would get the same benefit?

Why do so many babies have colic? It seems the newborns are depleted of a nutrient or nutrients they need, hence all the pain and crying. Once that's corrected colic ceases to be a problem.

The babies have no trouble being cured, it's often their parents who have the trouble...simply by being asked to believe it can be so easy!

We all know a mother's own milk is exactly what God intended babies to live on for the first months of life. It's always readily available and at the right temperature.

The ultimate, perfect milk for newborns! Or it should have been, so what starts the problem?
