Finding a Market For Your Arts and Crafts Business in Florida

So you've finally decided it's about time your arts and crafts hobby begins to rake you in some profits. You've attended several crafting Florida fairs and festivals and thought there is a feasible market for your products. If you don't know what to do, starting out can be traumatic especially for arts and crafts businesses. So here are some pointers to get you started the right way.
Florida crafting trade shows are a great way to explore the market early on. It gives you insight on competitive prices and other opportunities. you're going to want to try and set up a booth in one of these fairs and festivals to test the waters, so to speak. This is also the safest way to get to know the risks and problems usually encountered by arts and crafts businesses at an early stage. Make sure to try out small first on local fairs and festivals so you don't overwhelm yourself with big shows.
If you think you did quite well on the local art and crafts fairs, you can try and walk in on some local specialty gift shops and try to see if they would be willing to carry your products.

This is a good way of even spreading the word out about yourself and your business. If your quality is good, it won't be uncommon to find yourself flooded with orders overnight.

Another way to advertise over the internet are online mailing lists like Yahoo! Groups. These lists distribute e-mails to its members. A good thing about this is that most groups are specialized so you know you're not giving out Florida Craft Show information on a mailing list about dogs.
It is always very advisable to start out small in businesses such as these. The risks are high and a large investment at an early stage can get very ugly.
